So far it has been a defensive battle in the SEC Championship Game. Meanwhile, there is one less spot in the playoffs for Bama as Oklahoma is the Big XII Champion.

But a 31 point beating at 7-5 Iowa is a quality loss?It would have helped Bama's case if Aubie had beat UGA again. Now Bama's loss doesn't look much like a quality loss anymore. With the committee's emphasis on conf champions and how a team finishes the season, Bama's only chance for the playoffs is if the Buckeyes were to squeak by Wisc with a very close win, otherwise I think they will jump OSU over Bama. Buckeyes are up by 14 now so hopes are fading
You and I see that, but there is a lot of Bama fatigue out there and seems like they like to put emphasis on the late games instead of those played earlier in the season. I think we have a chance but it is very slimBut a 31 point beating at 7-5 Iowa is a quality loss?
That emphasis on conference champions seemed to conveniently disappear last year...
LOL you are gonna get roasted when you post nothing but conjectures and keyboard diarrhea. Fans are insane and throw money at the program? What kind of red herring is that? Ohio State is ranked ahead of Alabama when it comes to athletic department revenue, so nice try.I am going to get roasted for saying this, but I am darn near to the point of believing that professional wrestling isn't as rigged as college football. Alabama is playing in the playoffs solely due to the fact that their fans are insane and throw tons of money at the program. It's all about money. When you don't even play for your conference championship and STILL get to play for a national title, that's just ridiculous. Why even have the conference championship games? It was just as stupid when Ohio State backed in last year. Giving a mulligan to an undeserving team solely due to their name value makes the entire sport look suspect. I get that Ohio State was stomped by Iowa, but they still won their conference. Alabama's schedule wasn't exactly a killer. Their best win came against a team that lost at home to Troy. The SEC was pathetic this year, so you can't use the "ESS-EEE-SUHEEE!" thing to pretend like just making it through the conference alive is some big feat.
The BCS was an awful system. This "playoff" system isn't any better. At the very least, not even playing for a conference title should automatically disqualify you from the playoffs.
Typical Alabama fan. Your team sat at home yesterday and backed into the playoffs. It's a joke. Alabama's schedule was as soft as Charmin, even without the "Troy" argument. Who was the second best win against? Fresno State?LOL you are gonna get roasted when you post nothing but conjectures and keyboard diarrhea. Fans are insane and throw money at the program? What kind of red herring is that? Ohio State is ranked ahead of Alabama when it comes to athletic department revenue, so nice try.
So what is so important about conference championships? Please explain to me how the Big 10 conference is so good yet has NO out of conference ranked wins? How is that worthy? I can't get behind a conference championship argument when THEY ARE NOT ALL CREATED EQUAL.
Third, the Troy argument is so BS. You know teams are fluid and make improvements and fall off as the season progresses? If you're gonna use the argument that LSU is the same terrible team that lost to Troy in early October, then why isn't Florida State the same highly ranked team that came into the season?
Fourth, the BCS was probably the best system we've had. No I don't care for the commitee, but the same people whining about the BCS rigid formula are also whining about the flexibility and human element of the committee. We got away from the BCS because it was too formulated, so people whine when we go away from a rigid template. No win for insufferable people.
Clench your butt any tighter, that sand might turn into a pearl.
I am an Alabama fan, student, and soon to be alum but again, that has nothing to do with the topic at hand. You clearly don't know what you're talking about since you did not respond to any of the points I made and you just regurgitated talking points. You're making up for your deficiency in knowledge by making quips about Alabama.Typical Alabama fan. Your team sat at home yesterday and backed into the playoffs. It's a joke. I didn't respond to any of your "points" because they're irrelevant. Do you honestly think it's okay for a team (Be it Alabama, Ohio State, etc.) to be allowed to play for a national title when they weren't even qualified to play for a conference title? How does that make sense? To me, that's a joke. AT MINIMUM you should at least win your division. Alabama didn't even do that. Again, I thought it was just as silly last year when Ohio State got in. If you're going to do this garbage, expand the playoff field.I am an Alabama fan, student, soon to be alum, and employee, but again, that has nothing to do with the topic at hand. I will respond regarding Alabama's strength of schedule. I wish we'd add another in conference opponent and out of conference P5 opponent in place of 2 of the cupcakes. Simple as that, but let's not exaggerate the fact that Bama is avoiding tough opponents. For heaven's sake we scheduled Florida State back when they were making appearances in the CFP/National Championship.
I can get a good guess on what your team did yesterday, but that is irrelevant to the conversation. Man, so many people have been messed up in the head by Bama and company, its truly sad it ruined college football for them...
Nah, it's more like you don't know what you're talking about, so you're replying with Fox Sports talking points.I didn't respond to any of your "points" because they're irrelevant. "My team backed in like the undeserving team did last year, but it's okay and totally different this time because it's my team."
Well, at least we can agree on that.I'll have it known for the record, I never once said Alabama was deserving for that spot. Ohio State was just an atrocity of a choice.
