I feel like Alpha was a waste of a name. It's going to be a depression by tomorrow.
This is one of those that in previous years, it would’ve been added through post-season reanalysis. But the radar data from Portugal doesn’t lie...I feel like Alpha was a waste of a name. It's going to be a depression by tomorrow.
It has an eyewall like structure and banding consistent with a subtropical storm. Is Alpha much more than an MCV that happened to develop over the water? That water is pretty cold, and it's just SE of an upper level low. I get that it is labelled as sub-tropical and not tropical, but I'm not sure I agree with designating this with a storm name.
Here's the 500mb map for the area.

I sent in an absentee ballot, but it doesn't look like you guys have counted it. This poll is rigged!I finally voted in the poll. Not giving away what I voted for.
Honestly if recon would’ve gotten there, it would’ve been Wilfred. But technical difficulties happen. There you go @Kory
There should be a large moisture prime on the east side that will get tugged north once the trough digs down and starts scooting Beta NE.We could use some rain from Beta if it can track up this way. Things are starting to get dry.
Shhhhhh.... the tropics are quiet...
