On this day in 1899, Tallahassee, Florida fell to -2 degrees. The coldest ever in the state of Florida. A trace of snow was reported in Fort Myers, Florida. Minden, Louisiana fell to -16 degrees. The coldest ever in the state of Louisiana. Ice was 2 inches thick on the MS River at New Orleans.
On this day in 1952, a tornado outbreak occurred across the Southeast producing 15 confirmed tornadoes including one F4. This F4 tornado hit Marble Hill-Beech Hill-Marble Plains-Decherd, Tennessee. It led to 3 fatalities and $500,000 in damages. Overall, the outbreak led to 5 fatalities and $6.402million in damages.
On this day in 1994, a F0 tornado hit Kamper's West Park near Warrenton, Oregon. No fatalities occurred.
On this day in 2000, a tornado outbreak occurred across Georgia and the Southeast region. It led to 17 confirmed tornadoes with 2 F3 tornadoes. Both of these F3 tornadoes affected the towns of Camilla and Meigs, Georgia. It led to 18 fatalities and greater than $20 million in damages overall.
