Models are really jumping on board now with Isaac regenerating in the Western Caribbean. CMC/GFS both showing a hurricane in the Gulf. This is quickly turning into 2002 with a very active September.
Isaac may be trouble down the line. Euro and ensembles have jumped on board as of 00z. Tropical guidance shows eventually restrengthening in the Western Caribbean.
I was living on the gulf coast in 1979 when Frederick was given up for dead after crossing Cuba. I don't ever discount the chances of a storm coming back to life.
HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND
----------------------
RAINFALL: Isaac is expected to produce rainfall totals of 2 to 4
inches with isolated maximum amounts of 6 inches across the
south-central portion of the Dominican Republic, southern Haiti, and
most of Jamaica. This rainfall, especially in mountainous terrain,
may cause life-threatening flash floods.
