Euro/CMC back to showing a winter storm for the Gulf Coast for 1/2-1/3. The trailing shortave phases with the main trough that establishes the cold a couple days earlier and produces a rare coastal snow.

Getting concerned about the pipes at my apartment in Tuscaloosa. It’s one of those raised complexes with parking beneath. Long duration freezing event and this will hurt exposed, not well insulated plumbing.

Hopefully the tenants run their faucets at a drip/drizzle. But even that may not help if the plumbing has poor insulation.
Back in late December of 2000 in the Arklatex we had an ice storm with accumulations of >3/4th-1" with a high of 28°F. Even with well insulated plumbing, running the water was in vain. Hopefully with minimal precipitation, running water be enough for your complex and others similar.
For those living in an apartment, make sure you have your faucets dripping during this harsh freeze around New year's/Monday.
