Don't like the look of the storm heading into the southern portions of the Indianapolis metro. Fortunately not a horrifically tight couplet, but definitely hooking.

Yeah not a fan of that. It’s gonna slowly drift towards the Dayton metro overnight. Just let my parents know to keep their phone ringers on so I can call them if it hits the fan later.

Structure fire and vehicle accident reported in the Reid Road area in Grand Blanc. This is close to where the CC drop was, so assume this is tornado-related.

Edit: posted a pic of possible tornado damage in Grand Blanc but removed it because of contradictory info. Not sure if it’s was legit, but I’ll re-post it if I get confirmation it was indeed from Grand Blanc.

First damage pics trickling in from Grand Blanc. Every bit as bad as I had feared unfortunately. Already hearing about a possibile fatality too. Not good…

If we're seeing what looks to be high end EF2+ damage already, I dread what daylight is going to reveal...

edit: Hmmm, was gonna reverse image search it. Still, the Grand Blanc tornado was undoubtedly significant.

The pic was from freaking Andover…why do people do this?

There was some other damage from last August that was posted on social media today as well. I apologize for sharing this bs.

They want to be the "first one" who shared damage imagery from a tornado. It's a social media badge of honor that they did so before anyone else. All one has to do is grab any image that looks "close enough" and use it to decorate their post, but hurry before someone who actually knows what they're talking about beats them to it.

Don't fret, it happens. On any social media platform the "LooK i found damag from this tornadoe it was AT LEEST F4 if not an F5" posts are inevitably gonna come up and mix in with genuine reports. Not trying to derail this thread either, just wanted to throw that out there. Now back to the weather...

Am hearing multiple reports that the General Motors plant in Grand Blanc was hit by the tornado. I’m wondering if that’s the main cause of the big CC drop.

I’ve noticed that when tornadoes hit buildings with lots of sheet metal (warehouses and industrial buildings usually), it seems to usually result in a really ugly-looking TDS. That’s just a personal anecdote; I have no data to back it up.

Likely tornado hitting the exact area where I lived last year. My place was in Riverside right by Wright Patterson AFB. Boy am I glad I moved.
