LMAO, so Louisiana has the slowest economic growth of all Gulf Coast and Southeastern states, highest business tax increases, and is one of the most difficult to find a new job, and second highest unemployment in the U.S. behind West Virginia. But the governor, Democrat John Bel Edwards, is in a good position to get reelected! Keep being y'all, Louisiana, and people will continue to flee the state, like myself!

Because he had a worthless P.O.S. as speaker(Paul Ryan) who failed to bring it up. He attempted to accomplish this legislatively. I don't care if it was eight years a go, it is still on going and it is an emergency.
That makes no sense at all. He didn't call the emergency 2 yrs ago because he had a Republican congress and speaker and now he calls it when he has a Dem speaker and Pelosi at that??? So you're inferring that a Repub Congress and speaker were less likely to help than Pelosi and the Dems? Come on...
That is exactly what I am saying. Also, if it was President Romney or President McCain or President Jeb Bush you would be in full agreement you would be in favor of the declaration.

Circumventing congress to spend more money makes you pretty liberal.
How many times has it happened before now ? And for stupid money maker s**t! Declaring a national emergency if Congress fails to do its job does not make on a liberal. The president has taken an oath to protect the country and its citizens. This will be money well spent. It will save much, much more in the long run.
