BREAKING NEWS: Brett Kavanaugh has calendars from 1982 that his team says don’t show a party matching his accuser’s account. He plans to give them to the Senate. - NYT

Keeping calendars as a 17 yr old of your social events is weird. Saving them for 35 years is really weird.

Again, this guy perjured himself. I can’t excuse that or him saying he doesn’t recall something if he has taken detailed notes of his life since he was a teenager.

He probably kept the calendars to keep track of things he was doing....games, etc. He didn't throw them out for whatever reason...put them in a box and they've been sitting in an attic all these years. That would be my guess... if these calendars are authentic. That wouldn't make him weird in my opinion. And it's probably something he hadn't thought about in a long time and forgot he even had. And that's hardly taking "detailed notes of his life". You're making assumptions (as am I). It sure would be a lot easier if Ford would just give her testimony.

I don’t think it’s that weird. I still have those agendas most high schools give out with monthly calendars. Granted, I’m not 3+ decades removed from it. My parents also saved everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, from my childhood: preschool, elementary, middle and high school. So it very well it could be memories saved from his youth. Not that weird at all and I don’t think it’s as rare as you are implying.
You wrote down the attendees of every party you went to? Sorry, that’s not normal.

That’s not what you originally said nor what you posted The NY Times reported. You mentioned a calendar of events, not roster of people who go to a party. So which is it?

Nevermind, I actually linked the article.

The calendar pages from June, July and August 1982, which were examined by The New York Times, show that Judge Kavanaugh was out of town much of the summer at the beach or away with his parents. When he was at home, the calendars list his basketball games, movie outings, football workouts and college interviews. A few parties are mentioned but include names of friends other than those identified by Dr. Blasey.

Not much to corroborate Ford's end of things.

Dr. Blasey said another boy, Mike Judge, was in the room at the time and jumped on top of them in the bed, sending them all tumbling. She was able to free herself and escape the house, she said. Mr. Judge has told the Judiciary Committee that he remembered no such incident and had never seen Judge Kavanaugh behave in such a way.
The only other two people identified as being in the house at the time, but not the bedroom, have also said in recent days that they did not recall the incident. Patrick J. Smyth said he did not remember such a party or see any improper conduct by Judge Kavanaugh. Leland Keyser, a former classmate of Dr. Blasey’s at Holton-Arms, said she did not know Judge Kavanugh or remember being at a party with him.

.....Senate Democrats are investigating a new allegation of sexual misconduct against Kavanaugh. The claim dates to the 1983-84 academic school year, when Kavanaugh was a freshman at Yale University. The offices of at least four Democratic senators have received information about the allegation, and at least two have begun investigating it. Senior Republican staffers also learned of the allegation last week and, in conversations with The New Yorker, expressed concern about its potential impact on Kavanaugh’s nomination.

She will give her testimony. I’m sure the Dems will toss her softball questions and the republicans will destroy her and none of us will have a good idea of what happened.

How do you know he perjured himself ? You can guess and think but it is impossible for you to know. This is a B.S. story. It is part of the dem playbook. Until Republicans learn to play dirty it will keep happening.

This woman's story looks as genuine as a $3 bill
Yep. After thinking long and hard and having a conversation with her lawyer, she thinks it may have been Kavanaugh. There is absolutely NOTHING or NO ONE to corroborate any of these accusations. This BS is turning into a kangaroo court. And I don't even like Kavanaugh. For the record, I wanted Kethledge.

This story is so thin I can practically SEE through it. Six days it took her to carefully access her memories to feel confident enough to point her finger at Kavanaugh and accuse him of exposing himself at a party and put himself in her face. Yet The New Yorker could not find one corroborating witness who had firsthand knowledge. The people the accuser named as being present has denied the incident occurred. Fascinating. Once again... we have a party and no witnesses. At least according to this article.

Congress has paid over $17 million to people sexually abused by its members. I want to see the list to see if any of the people sitting in judgement of Kavanaugh are on it.

"He heard it from someone who was there." So, this is what due process looks like in 2018 America? Man, that's some iron clad evidence.

I'm disappointed in Ronan Farrow. Threadbare evidence from a highly intoxicated partisan completely lacking in any independent corroboration or confirmation.

Others have commented on specific reasons to doubt this lady's account, and I second their posts.

However, I am reminded of a HS situation very similar to the one alleged. On several occasions at parties (lots of drinking and even drug usage going on), I remember a guy exposing his genitalia. He was known for having a sizeable you-know-what, so when drunk he would start exposing himself. It wasn't meant to be sexual in nature - - to the extent that flashing someone isn't sexual - - it was like a mooning so to speak.

Now, that's not to say it wasn't inappropriate or stupid - - it was absolutely both. But, I'm not surprising at juvenile pranks like this in HS/College when a bunch of people are together binge drinking. Ironically, the guy I'm referring to married, has several kids, and actively attends church.

The Kavanaugh accusation is a little different. It supposedly includes direct harassment. But, not even the accuser alleges it was specific sexual harassment done for a sexual purpose. To me, her account sounds like someone being mocked or harassed for being a prude, or someone that is the victim of a crass prank. I'm not saying the behavior is OK, but to call it a sexual assault is totally absurd in my view.

I'm surprised the Democrats haven't called for a penis photo lineup. They can get the pictures of 10 men's penises (including Kavanaugh), and have her try to identify it on live TV. Because that's where we're at isn't it?

No one is confirming Ford's story that was alleged to be at the Party. Same for the new accusation. Avenatti is now accusing Kavanaugh of group rape, and a newspaper journo and CNN contributer just got busted for claiming "Montgomery County investigators" are looking at a new accusation, and he had to walk it back when Montgomery Co police said they aren't investigating anything. The reporter is now hinting that he meant a private investigator all along.

It all reeks of a coordinated smear job. This is not Roy Moore. I still have zero doubt about his accusers. But, the Democrats were shocked that he lost in deep red Alabama. They filed that away for use in a break glass type situation. Kennedy retiring was a break glass situation. Part of the reason why I was desperate for Trump to nominate a woman. So much harder to smear.

The Democrats believe that Garland was dirty pool by the GOP. I believe they and their base see this smear job as morally equivalent. Republicans would do the same in many situations. There is ample evidence of this. Hell, Ted Cruz has been defending the Dallas cop and making disingenuous legal and moral arguments about murdering a man in cold blood in his own home.

Both parties are loathsome. Perhaps we need a penis photo lineup to drive home to the American people just how bad our politics have become.

Finally, I feel for Kavanaugh. This is a horrible smear job with lasting consequences. They want to destroy and delegitimize him if his nomination succeeds. Disgusting and quite sad. Make no mistake, the Democrats are doing this because they are panicked and anger that they might no longer be able to kill innocent babies as often as they want to.

His statements on William Pryor and Charles Pickering do not match with the emails the Senate Judiciary committee has.

I have to say, out of all we've seen so far, Kavanaugh's yearbook actually bothers me more than anything else. Renate alumnus. She was one of the 65 that signed a letter of support saying Kavanaugh was always polite and a gentleman to females. Now, she's furious and essentially withdrew her support.

Kavanaugh was definitely the drunken frat bro that we all love to hate. I definitely believe he's changed, but his yearbook tells a different story than his "I was a virgin until after college" interview suggests. Either Kavanaugh isn't copping to immature braggadocio or he's engaged in some troublesome behavior.

Excellent job, Donald. Only you could screw up a slam dunk nomination. Should've nominated Barrett. It was obvious that the Dems would try to destroy any male.

Evan, the Dems will destroy or attempt to destroy anyone Trump nominates. Gender matters not to them. Until and unless the Republicans start to play by the same rules as democrats, civility will not be restored to our politics.
