Brad Travis expects the first possible derecho to plow into north Alabama after sunset tomorrow while the possible derecho Saturday may head more twoards the Smokies into North Carolina.
Still a lot of uncertainty with tomorrow's derecho. Its possible it may miss most of North AL completely and head more towards N MS/ extreme NW AL. Its possible (And knowing my luck probably very likely) that Huntsville is barely even close enough to this system to witness one or two distant lightning flashes.
I don't give the 3km much credit for anything and don't like it. However the 18z has an absolutely hellacious derecho pretty much cutting down just west of the AL line in MS. DCape is almost 2000 ahead of it. Then supercells with a slight tornado risk for all of central AL Saturday evening.
The 18z 12km NAM has it running straight down the gut of AL.
Going back home to New Orleans this weekend, so I'll be missing most of the bad weather. I'll just be experiencing heat indices 110-115. Sounds like a great time for outdoor activities.
Sad news out of Branson, Missouri. The line of storms currently over northern Arkansas caused a tour boat to capsize on Table Rock Lake earlier this evening, which has caused several fatalities.
