Pretty much... considering that the timing of the line of storms has not been nailed down.

Not to be offensive to the AL folks, but sheesh, you guys close/delay schools for all kind of weather except for when it's sunny outside I hope.

It has gotten a tad ridiculous on the timing of the calls the last couple of years.  I'm all for the delays if it appears necessary, but lets give it time, and don't be afraid to wait until early morning.  At some point people have to be responsible enough to check in.

Why is it that schools in AL close or are delayed but not schools in GA ?

Schools in AL are usually very bad at deciding when to cancel classes. They either call them off at the very first sign of trouble, only for nothing to happen, or they'll wait until there's already a tornado on the ground bearing down on the school and then call classes off.

Personally I'd rather them make the decision either tonight or early tomorrow morning. It's incredibly annoying when they wait until it's within 30 minutes of the start of school to call things off.

I would guess timing. Those schools delaying due to the event hitting the area in the am with possible issues on am bus routes.

In your area it would be more of an early dismissal

I sometimes wonder on delay decisions and wording admins of the school systems...mean really do they look at just once and pull trigger

Right into the teeth of the QLCS timing projections...yes have been updated every few hours (if admin should see this lolzzz)

As you go through life reaching for the top...

1. Your best friends will disappoint you.
2. Three or four things will happen on a daily basis you wished you could go back and change.
3. It gets lonely.
4. If you can't handle 1 and 3, get another job.

They should have waited till a bigger severe outbreak to use one of their weather days.

Looks like they will be closing quite a bit over the next few months considering severe weather season hasn't even started.
