So far in Alabama:

Cullman County Schools will delay the start of classes by two hours.
Walker County Schools will delay the start of classes by two hours.

Morgan county school delayed 2 hours

Why are the schools delaying 2 hours.  Is this due to the threat of black ice in the morning?  The snow may not even start until after the delayed openings.

Think it might be due to all flash flooding issues. Not wanting the buses to drive thru potential water while it still a little dark.

If roads will be fine there is no need to close schools except for mountanous counties.

Lawrence Co open two hrs late...these north ala counties really should leave the option to close early open , not going in late

I think Hartselleweather makes a very good point........there is a lot of flooding out there and no need in sending school buses out in the dark.

Another thought.  Iv seen school systems do this before. They may just be using the delay to buy more time to make a decision on the rest of the day.
