Looks to be a fairly long lived sequence of severe weather for the northern Plains into the Great Lakes region, and for areas in southern Canada.  It's one helluva short wave - right now it's near the Aleutians and forecasted to track just north of the US/Canadian border from lower British Colubia to Nova Scotia.  Haven't looked into derecho possibilities for the areas outlined by the SPC but this being a pattern changing shortwave and getting into derecho season, I would tend to say yes to a possible high end wind event or two.

(by the way, as this evolves we can kiss the cool weather in the Southeast goodbye and say hello to the heat ridge)

Which one? The one with the tornado warning?

A tornado warning just east of Denver, CO again. The storm is a slow mover with flooding likely an issue too. By the way, a gorgeous pair of supercells in SE WY; this brings back memories to the Goshen County tornado on June 5th, 2009.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DENVER HAS ISSUED A

* TORNADO WARNING FOR...
  EASTERN ARAPAHOE COUNTY IN NORTHEAST COLORADO

* UNTIL 530 PM MDT

* AT 506 PM MDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
  SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A TORNADO 6 MILES
  SOUTHEAST OF BYERS...OR 36 MILES NORTHWEST OF LIMON. THIS STORM WAS
  NEARLY STATIONARY.

That storm is still going with the tornado warning northeast of Pueblo,Co. Had some incredible structure earlier when the storm chasers where out there. The storm near Greeley had 75dbz+ earlier.

I'd say it was probably around grapefruit size, judging by the returns on the radar.
