Former U.S ambassador to the U.N. John Bolton on fox news today.some of the cliffnotes.
he believes the Obama administration is more afraid of Israel attacking Iran than they are of Iran getting a nuclear weapon.    ](*,)

he said we are down to two options, 1.(and what he thinks is most likely) Iran gets nuclear weapons and becomes immune to attack, #-o  2. Military action to end or slow the program. He went on to say "If your not prepared to use military force get ready for an Iran with a nuclear weapons, and beyond that get ready for Saudi Arabia, get ready for Egypt, get ready for Turkey, get ready for others"

Whenever you hear a reference to attacking Iran before they reach "Immunity" what thats reffering to is attacking Iran before they have nuclear weapons or are very close. Once they get nukes you can pretty much rule out any attacks.

Israel proved in 1967 that they couldn't care less about what the rest of the world thinks when they feel as though their national survival is on the line. My greatest fear is that the moment Iran goes nuclear is the moment Israel launches a Jericho missile with a nuclear warhead towards Tehran. This isn't Palestinians throwing rocks here.

couldnt agree more....  =D> This could get ugly quick  :worried:  best case scenario a "shock and awe" type campaign to severely disable nuclear production. If the world waits until Iran gets a "bomb" this could get out of control. The last thing we need is Israel and Iran throwing nukes at each other. and its not totally out of the realm of possibility that Russia and or China get involved.

I don't know about that - there's a case to be made for the entire middle east being uninhabitable for a few thousand years. Just saying.

If you get anything of value from John Bolton, I'll eat my hat. I'm not sure why people think it's a good idea to listen to the same folks talking the same thing about Iran that they did about Iraq - John Bolton is going to advocate attacking Iran ASAP, let me save you the drama.

John Bolton today
Says the reason our top officials are going to Israel is to make sure that he tells Obama he wont use military force. He feels that is unlikely and predicts an unpleasant meeting between the two march 5th  :hmm:

Says Iran recents events prove this will not be resolved diplomatically.

Nothing else is working, Iran obviously has no interest in talking to anyone or negotiating anything  . The only reason they have these talks is to appease the Obama administration and the U.N. and buy just a little more time. Everything Iran is doing is a direct slap in the face to the world and making a mockery of all the sanctions. This is bigger than Iran getting a nuke if they succeed every other country in the middles east is going to get nuclear weapons, as unstable as relations are in that part of the world...... well lets just not go there....

Anyway, if you are refering to Circa 2002/2003 Iraq, yep it probably sounds familiar. We need to render I'm-a-nutjob a non-threat in similar fashion as Saddam is no longer a threat. You guys on the left willfully suspend all case history of how evil and dangerous Saddam was. Sure there was a cost to get rid of him. There will be a cost to get rid of Iran's leaders and their nuke program as well. However as I have said ad nauseum, the price for letting them fulfill their desired goals would be MUCH greater! That's the reality of the situation.

There are 74 million people in Iran. What do we do about them after we render their government a non-threat? This is not a simple question. What fills the power vacuum?

The people who rebelled after the last "election" had a power structure somewhat ready to assume control. You didn't seem to have the same concerns when it came to Libya and Egypt last year. By the same token you should be concerned about Syria too and the power vacuum there as well. So does that mean we should just sit idly by and excuse inaction all the way to a nuclear Iran?

Besides, even out of 74 million people, all it takes is one nutty leader in Iran with a nuke and an itchy finger to send the region into irreversable chaos!

Iran believes they need to cause world chaos to bring the fulfillment of prophesy as they see it. If people don't understand that, and just assume they will act rationally, they are missing the boat big time.

Fwiw, Ahmadinejad wouldn't be in control of Iran's nuclear weapons.  Khamenei is the man in charge.

North Korea will act to protect their interests; whereas Iran will act on some obscure theological premise...  Hence, Iran is a threat.  Beside, noone really likes Persia anyway.  :)

As U.S. and Israeli officials talk publicly about the prospect of a military strike against Iran's nuclear program, one fact is often overlooked: U.S. intelligence agencies don't believe Iran is actively trying to build an atomic bomb.

A highly classified U.S. intelligence assessment circulated to policymakers early last year largely affirms that view, originally made in 2007. Both reports, known as national intelligence estimates, conclude that Tehran halted efforts to develop and build a nuclear warhead in 2003.

The most recent report, which represents the consensus of 16 U.S. intelligence agencies, indicates that Iran is pursuing research that could put it in a position to build a weapon, but that it has not sought to do so.

Although Iran continues to enrich uranium at low levels, U.S. officials say they have not seen evidence that has caused them to significantly revise that judgment. Senior U.S. officials say Israel does not dispute the basic intelligence or analysis.

U.S. does not believe Iran is trying to build nuclear bomb

Serious deja vu.

I feel certain your rat sensing ability is above that of the consensus of 16 U.S. intelligence agencies.

The U.N, atomic agency is not so convinced Iran's actions are peaceful. Producing higher grade uranium, failure to give a convincing explanation about a quantity of "missing" uranium metal(the amount unaccounted for is large enough to be used for experiments in arming a nuclear missile.)
. On top of that kicking inspectors out of the country when they wanted to visit the most suspicious plants. If they have nothing to hide and are being peaceful :icon_lol: O:)  then they need to prove it. My link
