Well it looks like Channel 19 has a new weather girl  eusa_clap.gif She seems to be very knowledgeable and has good presentation too. I only got her first name, Christina, and is from I think the Birmingham area and has worked at the TWC. Just saw here for the first time on the 06:00 newscast this evening. I haven't seen her bio or photo yet on the website but ......she's a cutie icon_wink.gif

I remember when Jennifer Lopez left TWC earlier this year, she already had a Dallas TV job waiting for her the second she left.

Abernathy spells her name with a K, and she's from Georgia, not Alabama. Not that I'm stalking her or anything. icon_wink.gif

Yep!  icon_wink.gif Na, it's another Jennifer Lopez. I'd like to see her do a weather segment though. That station would have good TV ratings!  icon_biggrin.gif

I'd love to see Tom Cruise do a severe weather report and jump up and down on a couch like he did on Oprah. Still, I'll have to check her out tonight.

That would be Christina Meeks.  A very nice person and very knowledgeable met.  She is freelancing now, and will be a fine addition to the Huntsville weather market.  She was hired on at The Weather Channel Radio Network shortly after I left, and we talk now and then about the good, the bad and the ugly of working at TWC.  I think she is much happier having left there, as are all of the people I know who are no longer working within those walls.

For some strange reason that name sounds oddly familiar to me  eusa_think.gif . Did she ever do fill-in's for TWC?

She did radio weather forecasts and live severe weather coverage for over 50 radio stations around the country when she worked at The Weather Channel Radio Network.  You probably heard her on the radio, but she may have also some some tv fill-in work when she was there also.

It's always interesting to see the comments after a person's first day on-air.  There is so much to juggle when you are on-air for the first time at a new station.  Believe it or not, it's more than just talking.  It takes some time to get comfortable with your surroundings, the local geography, the computer systems, etc.  While it's not brain surgery - it is a bit more difficult than it may look.

I don't know Christina, but I bet she will do just fine once she settles in.
